kidOYO is always on the lookout for new entrepreneurial learning opportunities for our students to practice their skills in real world settings. Late in 2014, under tight time constraints, NYC publisher Skyhorse Publishing asked us to find a Minecraft designer to solve a bit of a design riddle that was serving as an obstacle to publishing a certain book with a cover that represented the author's wishes.

Within a couple of hours, kidOYO student 'Lordwhitebear' had not only solved the riddle, but had designed an entire scene that could be used as the cover design for the new book.

A few contract details , an exchange of monies, and a few months later... and the cover design created by 'Lordwhitebear' for the book "Escape From The Overworld" by Danica Davidson is now on store shelves at Target and other major retailers.
